Upcoming Road Closures
Connors Road southbound below Scona Road Bridge is scheduled to be closed nightly during the hours of 6:30pm-6am, from May 13 to May 18, 2024, and again from May 21 to May 26, 2024.
Update: The closure of Scona Road Bridge northbound has been rescheduled from May 17 to May 20, 2024 due to weather. New dates are to be determined.
Please plan to use alternate routes when traveling during these times.
An additional weekend closure of Scona Road Bridge northbound is planned for late spring/early summer; timing to be confirmed.

Project Information
Two bridges in central Edmonton will be rehabilitated:
- Scona Road over Connors Road
- 98 Avenue eastbound over Connors Road
Construction has begun and is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2024. Please allow extra travel time to accommodate lane reductions on Scona Road northbound.
The bridges will be worked on one after another beginning with Scona Road over Connors Road Bridge.
Partial closures will occur throughout construction with a limited number of full road closures and detours required to accommodate safe and efficient working conditions. Work will be planned around special events in the area to ensure access is maintained.

Project Area Overview
This graphic shows the location of the Scona Road over Connors Road and the 98 Avenue over Connors Road bridge rehabilitation projects and the nearby neighbourhoods.
The need for this work was identified through the Bridge Renewal Program which proactively monitors the condition of bridges and suggests optimal levels of repair. By working on these bridges now, their service life can be extended and the risk of unplanned disruptions is reduced.
